Five Months Old!

Our little girl is growing up waaaaaay too fast!

The problem with this little photo shoot wasn't getting her to smile (she smiles all the time now) it was getting her to hold still long enough for me to take the picture!  She was also more interested in eating the bow on her tutu and the sticker on her shirt than she was at looking at the camera!

Rylee now weighs about 15 pounds and is about 25 inches long!  She is happy and healthy and we couldn't be more blessed.  She is so active and alert and fun now-a-days.  She giggles, squeals, grunts, talks and screams and constantly makes Ryan and me laugh.  As I type this she is laying next to me talking up a storm and reaching for her pacifier in attempt to put it in her mouth.  She's just about got it, just puts it in backwards and then gags on it haha it's actually quite humerus.

She has outgrown her bathtub so now bath time is in the real bath.  She now has a lot more room to kick and get crazy.  I end up soaking wet by the time we are done every night.  She has some bath guys that she plays with every night.  When I put her in the tub I always count to three and then will stand her in the water and give her her toys.  Now every time I do it she looks over to the soap holder where her guys are and will knock them into the water herself then sit down.

She is still sleeping very well.  We are soooooo lucky!  She goes down about 8-8:30 every night and will sleep a full 8+ hours.  Usually when she wakes up she eats and then goes right back to sleep with no problem and will sleep another 2-4 hours.  It has been very nice.  She's not doing that well with falling asleep on her own but she will do it every now and then.  I decided she will do it when she is ready and if she wants us to rock her to sleep I am okay with that too!

The solid food is also going well.  She eats a mixture of rice cereal and breast milk every day around 2.  We're not sure if she likes it but she eats most of it, well, what actually goes into her mouth.  I have been reading up on introducing other foods and we will probably start that next month after her check up with Dr. Saba just to see what he recommends.

What Rylee likes...
  1. eating
  2. playing on the floor
  3. toys that make noise (anything that makes noise for that matter)
  4. kicking (especially in the water)
  5. sucking her toes
  6. watching mom in the kitchen
  7. swinging
  8. rolling over (she's starting to like being on her tummy a little bit more)
  9. going for walks and being outside
  10. talking to herself in the morning (and basically all day long too)

Just ah Swingin'

The weather was a beautiful 70 degrees today so we decided to take little miss to the park.  She was kinda fussy and needed a nap and we thought the fresh air would make everything better.  She loves being outside. She actually fell asleep on the way to the park and we were a little hesitant to wake he up when we got there   but after we saw how much she loved swinging we were glad we woke her up

*side note, she was nowhere near sleepy when we got home haha

She was giggling and smiling the whole time!

(notice her little Nike's)

Ryan took her down the slide when we were done swinging, but she didn't want anything to do with it yet haha  I have a feeling we will be going back to this park a lot more in the near future it was lots of fun!

Our little Valentine!

 Valentines Day outfits!

Ryan got Rylee a card and he got me a card from Rylee--probably one of the most romantic things he has ever done ;)

Jeffrey and Jamie came over and we enjoyed a 3-course fondue feast, it was fabulous!

First real food

I keep calling it "solid" food, but so far it's far from solid haha  HOWEVER...our little girl ate her first official real food...rice cereal.  She has been staring Ryan and I down whenever we eat and has been showing all the classic signs that she is ready to start eating real food.  So, this weekend we decided to go for it and see what happened.  It was a total success!  Not sure how much of it she actually ate but it went a lot better than I was expecting it to go.

We are going to have to get her little baby bullet out and start making her her own food.  Looking forward to seeing what she will like to eat!  However, we still have some time to figure out how to use the thing and keep learning how to swallow, so until then, rice cereal it is!

Yay me!

She is growing up so fast, it's scary.

Standing! Well...sort of

more like leaning!

She loves the frog on her jungle.  She bats at it and it makes noise so she keeps hitting it!

My buddy and Me

We don't know that many people down here but it just so happens that the few close friends we do have also happen to have little ones of their own so Rylee has instant best friends!

Lyla...

Lyla is a little bundle of energy.  She is the daughter of one of Ryan's coworkers.  She is a little less that a year older than Rylee and she is a little cutie pie!  We have started meeting up with Rob, Daveena and Lyla for "wing night" every Tuesday and since Daveena is a stay at home mommy we are going to start meeting up during the week to get the girls together to play.   And...since Rob and Ryan play softball together and are  both sports-minded dads, there is no doubt in my mind that Lyla and Rylee will be teammates at some point in the (near) future.  Rob already has Lyla swinging a bat haha

Landon...

Although this little man is almost 5 months younger than Rylee, very soon these two are going to be up to no good!  Landon is our neighbors Dave and Rachelle's little man.  Rylee stares at him and right now isn't quite sure what to think of him.  I was holding him the other day and Rylee was giving me the evil eye like "mom what do you think you are doing" haha  Rylee is going to be able so show Landon the ropes and in no time these two are going to be running the street, I can't wait!

I am so thankful that we have good people in our life as well as our daughters.  It is going to be so fun watching Rylee grow up with these two, good things in the future for sure!

Waste Management Open

So.....babies and golf tournaments do NOT mix.  We went to the Waste Management Open in Scottsdale and it was quite the experience.

My brother and Ryan have been before and it was a first for me.  The guys talked it up BIG TIME.  Said it was quite the party and with all the stories they told us that's what I was expecting.  HOWEVER, little miss Rylee had a different plan in mind (little fun sucker).  Jeffrey and I got there on Thursday and walked around allllllll day watching golfers and such.  We had tickets to the all you can eat and drink tent and sadly those days are over for me, I have new responsibilities now-a-days. Rylee did pretty good all morning and in the afternoon she had had enough and started to get pretty fussy.  While we were watching none other than Mr. Phil Mickelson, Rylee was having a little hissy fit and screaming at the top of her lungs!!!!  Fortunately, Uncle Jeff took her out into the desert and I didn't get in trouble for my little noise maker.

On Friday Rylee and I stayed at the condo until about 1 o'clock and then we met up with my dad and Jeffrey.  It seemed like the number of people in attendance had doubled and it was a little difficult to get the stroller around and again being in the sun took it's tole on little miss.  I know that that much sun and fresh air takes it out of me too!  Saturday there was a record breaking crowd and knowing this, we didn't even attempt to take the stroller we just used the carrier.

As much as we loved having little miss there it was super frustrating for both Ryan and myself.  It was hard for both of us to enjoy ourselves so I just went back to the condo so Ryan could actually enjoy watching some golf and have a little fun which was okay with me :)

Totally "illegal" to take pictures at a golf tournament teehee

I didn't even go to the tournament on Sunday--after all that walking for three days I was beat and, as sad as it sounds, super sore!  Rylee wasn't having any more of it either so we just came home and took naps.  Next year I would be totally content going only one day to watch golf and we have also decided that tournaments are not the thing for Rylee so she can stay with grandma next year!
