Naughty Naughty Naughty

So here is the rest of my story (see chalk video).  Rylee really likes to color now-a-days.  We will be in the playroom and she will grab her notepad and crayons and will just color away.  The other day, suddenly, she stopped coloring on the paper and started coloring in her kitchen pots, on her monkey toy, basically everywhere BUT the paper.  So I had to explain to her that we color on paper, not our toys.  She didn't get it so I had to take the crayons away (which didn't go over well).  What I failed to remember was that I tucked the white crayon aside...who uses the white one anyway?!  Well, today I was getting ready in the bathroom and I heard her scratching the dresser.  I thought she was doing it with one of her plastic forks (I saw her holding it prior to brushing my teeth) so I came out to see what she was doing and found this......

I asked her what she did and she was pointing to her masterpiece.  She was pretty proud of it.  As a matter of fact it is still there, I never cleaned it off...oops!  Aaaaaaaand so it begins :)

**on a side note, I think we are using the word naughty too much lately, Rylee now knows what it means and says "Naw nee" Yes, Rylee, this is naw nee.

Spaghetti

Not sure of I have mentioned it lately but Rylee looooooooooves spaghetti!  I love listening to her try to say spaghetti, it's kind of like "sketttty".  She is getting better and better using her fork/spoon so the other night we let her have at it.  It was actually the first time we just set the plate on her tray and let her have at it.  Well, check it out...

She would take a bite handful and say "mmmmmmmmmm"  She did pretty well for her first time, I was impressed.  There wasn't any on the floor and not that much in her seat.  Since this night all she wants to do is have her plate or bowl on her tray and feed herself.  After a few failed tries she looks at me, hands me her spoon/fork and needs help with a few bites but as soon as she has a few she wants to do it herself again.  She is getting so big!!!

Our First Lemon Harvest!

Well, it's been a long wait but we FINALLY got to harvest our first year of lemons!  It was a pretty exciting event.  For the longest time they were almost all yellow (still a little green on them) so I waited and waited and waited.  I decided I better pick them before they start to dry out and it was perfect timing!  They were delicious!  Not quite enough to make lemonade (the whole reason we decided on a lemon tree over an orange tree) but it's better than nothing!!!

Sadly right after we picked the lemons the temperatures dropped dramatically...like to below FREEZING!  So we were really careful and made sure the tree got covered with a sheet every night.  Of course we had record breaking cold and as of today our poor tree is not looking good.  All of the leaves are dead and we are hoping it still pulls through and will start to grow.

Chalk

This video is kind of long but it shows the true talent of our little artist!  Lately she has really been enjoying coloring (more on that later).  It was really nice out the other day so we spend the day outside swinging, riding her bike, coloring, eating sand and blowing bubbles, she liked to say "pop" when they hit the ground as well as lick the bubble stick...yuck!
