Three Months Old!

Everyone says that time flies and kids grow up so fast. Before you know it they are no longer babies and they are walking and talking, then driving and then graduating college. I of course just shrugged it off thinking yeah yeah whatever! Well, now three months have gone by and I am sitting here thinking holy cow, how did that happen!?  We measures little miss and she is exactly 2 feet tall and weighs 12.4 pounds!  We think she is going through a growth spurt because she eats and sleeps a lot and I find it hard to keep up with her in the milk department.  We are making it through though and obviously she is not malnourished.

I know she is still a baby but she seems so grown up already. She is such a joy and she continues to change and make us laugh every day. Her new thing is "talking" to us with her mouth shut, so she kind of hums. Her dad calls is her ventriloquist act. It's super cute...

(notice how much she is kicking?  This is why we only got a couple picture to turn out during our 3-month photo shoot--they were all really blurry)

Again, she enjoys loves, loves, LOVES taking a bath. She has outgrown the sink so we bathe her in her little plastic tub in the bath tub. She now has much more room to kick and splash and boy does she kick up a storm!  Luckily for dad and me all that kicking wares her out and she is out as soon as we get her dressed for bed and fed.  I need to look into getting her in a swimming class, I think she would really like it.  However, she HATES being cold so that might take some getting used to.

I just love this little smile and giggle!

(it looks like she is wearing a bow tie)

Rylee is as ready as she will be for Christmas, it's hard to get a 3-month old too excited.  She has been a big help in the kitchen while I make all of my Christmas goodies this week, she sits in her highchair and sings Christmas songs with me.  Next year will be a whole different scene I am sure.  Grandmas and Grandpas will be arriving soon, should be a great weekend with everyone here.  Wish uncle Travis was coming too!

Fantasy of lights boat parade

The other night I made a little deal with my hubby...he could golf Saturday morning if he promised to go look at Christmas lights with me Saturday night (he has never been a fan and it's one of my FAVORITE things to do). He agreed and I found online this parade on Tempe Lake where all the boats get all decked out and float around, I thought it sounded fun so that's what we did instead of driving around. Aunt Jamie even went with us! It was actually pretty cool (cooler than I thought it would be) and Ryan even admitted that it was better than driving around...YAY! Rylee really enjoyed looking at the lights and was such a trooper the whole time we were out there even though her little hat kept covering her eyes.

There were all kinds of boats out there, ski boats, pontoons, yachts and even canoes. My favorites were the Polar Express "train" and Rudolph pulling Santa's boat.
Baby girl all bundled up (it was only 60 degrees out lol). Notice her mittens...yeah, they were a little, I mean a lot big but it was better than embarrassing her in public with socks on her hands like we do at home--haha

Watching the boats with daddy!

Family photo op

Hope everyone is starting to get into the Christmas spirit like we are. We may have started a new family tradition......just sayin'

Afterwards we grabbed dinner and Rylee told me all about her night...

Santa!

Rylee's first visit with Santa was a complete success! We got to Bass Pro Shop and the line was ridiculous; however, they have these things called "Bass Passes" that allow you to comp back when the line was shorter so instead of standing in line for an hour we only had a 10 minute wait. Awesome! So while we waited we went to lunch. She was sleeping the whole time standing in line, we woke her up when we were towards the front of the line, she sat on Santa's lap, got her picture taken and then fell back asleep as soon as we left the store! Here is her first official picture with Santa...

We shall see if she is as cooperative next year. I have a feeling she will be one of those screaming children haha

2-month stats

So Rylee had her 2 month check up which meant she also had to get her first round of vaccinations. I knew it was going to be rough so I made Ryan go with me. She did great up until the needles went in. SO HORRIBLE!!! She screamed bloody murder, sounds that we didn't even know were possible for her to make. I got all teared up, it was so hard to just sit there and do nothing while our little girl was in agonizing pain. The nurse was super fast though (obviously she has done this a time or two) and we got Rylee some milk right away and she passed right out. Poor thing. That afternoon was a little rough, she was pretty fussy and sad and would start to scream if her poor little legs moved. I think I cried just as much as she did after we got home. It's so hard to know that she is in pain and there is nothing I can do to make it go away "right now". The doctor told us he wanted to see how she handles the shots so not to medicate her before going into his office so we tried to keep her as happy as we could but after a while I broke down and gave her some ibuprofen and a worm bath and that seemed to do the trick (you can only handle so much screaming). Afterwords she was good to go for the rest of the evening and next morning was back to her chipper, happy, kicking and smiling self.

Other than the shots Rylee is perfect! The doctor even said so! haha She is right on track with her growth. She weighs 11.8 pounds (70%), 23 inches long (75%) and is in the 80% for head circumference. She is happy and healthy and that is all we could ask for! She has been such a good sleeper too, which I am not going to complain about! The past few nights she has slept 7+ hours, we are really lucky in this department. If she does wake up at night she eats and is back asleep in no time. I told Ryan if she continues to sleep through the night we are going to have to start putting her in her bed; she is quickly outgrowing her little crib we have in our room. Not sure if mom is ready for that though.

She continues to amaze us every day. She has become a lot more active and talks all the time. Her little coos just melt your heart. I could listen to her "stories" all day long. She almost has complete control of her head, not quite but we are getting close. We are thinking about putting her little jumper up, should be fun to see how she takes that all in. We downloaded several apps of the iPad that are centered around baby's development, one of them is about animals and she loves it! She will stare at it and listen to it for a long time. She is also starting to grab her rattle but can't quite shake it yet. I have noticed that she is into lots of different sounds lately so we are constantly making noises for her. And she has become quite the little kicking machine!!! It's awesome!

Two Months Old!!!

November has been a busy month. I don't know what it is exactly that we are busy doing, but it seems like it's non-stop around here. Rylee May is now 2 months old!!! It seems like she has been in our lives for so much longer than that. We are all completely adjusted to one another, have our little system figured out and we are constantly amazed by the changes in our little girl. She has become a lot more active, she is all smiles, giggles and has started "talking" to us--it's just so stinkin cute!

One thing we have been super surprised about is the length of time Rylee sleeps at night. Most nights she will go 7 hour stretches. It's fab-ulous! Our bedtime routine consists of a bath, eat, rock and pass out. If all of this is done by 9/10 we consider ourselves oober lucky! Most nights Rylee will wake up sometime between 2 and 4am, she will eat and usually go right back to sleep and sleep until about 7 or 8. It has been so nice and consistent (hope it stays that way) I thing we got super lucky in the sleep department.

Little miss is growing like crazy! We have weighed and measured her at home and she's about 11+ pounds and 23 inches long. She has her 2-month check up this week so we will see what Dr. Saba confirms. She's eating a ton (4-5 oz at a time), sometimes it seems like literally all she does is eat and sleep all day long. Her daddy has a little workout routine that he does with her and her legs and neck are getting really strong. Her head control is awesome, and gets better every day; I need to go get her a Bumbo chair, I think she would really like it. We also have a jumper that we want to hang, but she's not quite ready for it...yet.

Rylee still LOVES bath time! Giving her a bath is one of the joys of my day. She is so happy when she's in the water. She is always so mad when we take her out (it might be because of the cold as well) I think if we let her she would stay in the water for hours. I have takes a couple baths with her is the big tub and she is in heaven in there. She completely relaxes and just floats there. I love it!

The other night I was giving her a bath; at the end we rinse her off in the "shower" (she loves the water running over her head) and she started licking the water--HILARIOUS!

Yesterday I realized that my 12 weeks of maternity leave are up. However, my amazing husband hasn't told me I have to go back to work yet :) Honestly though, there is NO way I could just drop my daughter off with some one else right now. I had a hard enough time going out to lunch and leaving her with her grandma! haha So we will see how long we can make things work. How do you working moms do it!?!

I love you more and more every day Rylee May! You continue to amaze me with your beautiful self!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Awe! Rylee's first Halloween!!!! As a parent obviously it was more exciting for me than it was for her. Let's face it, how excited does a 6-week old actually get?! We did it up though. On Saturday we carved pumpkins...

It was about 90 out, so we did it outside! It was fabulous!!!!

Pumpkin Butt!!!

Mom's, Rylee's and Dad's...

So we thought it would be super cute to put Rylee in the pumpkin and take pictures...she was NOT having it!!! She screamed the whole time so that idea was an epic fail!!!! haha

Front door decor...
The finished product at night. Ohhhhhhhhh, spooky!!!!

Rylee's Halloween outfits...

Love that little smile
Mommy's sleepy little pumpkin

Skeleton Baby!
Tongue out and everything!!!
With daddy...not sure what to thing about this Trick-or-Treat business!
Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! Can't wait until next year when our baby girl can walk around and say "trick or treat"!!!

Lets go Broncos!!!

Rylee loves watching football with her daddy, baseball too. Seriously, she totally watches the TV and is perfectly content. Dad said he was teaching her about football the right way, the Boise State way. The look on her face is just too much, I love it!

hmmmmmm, will the Broncos win today? I think so!

All football-ed out

One Month Old!!!!

Holy cow!!! How has a month already flown by!?!? It's hard to believe that Rylee has been in our lives for a whole month now. It has been amazing and we are having so much fun with her. She honestly makes me laugh every day. She makes the funniest little faces and has started to develop a little personality which I love. Lately she has started grunting a lot and we have come to the conclusion that this little girl can really pack a punch. We had no idea babies were so loud when they do their business. As Ryan said last night, "she farts like a man" haha We can't do anything but look at each other and just laugh, most of the time asking "was that you?".

She is growing up so fast and I swear she changes every day. She has gone from drinking 2-4 ounces per feeding to anywhere from 5-8 ounces! I am trying to keep up with her in the feeding department. Unfortunately she never did latch on and it got to be WAY too frustrating for both of us. Luckily she is still getting what she needs but pumping is such a pain!

Her sleep pattern is pretty consistent at about 2-4 hours most of the time. At night though she seems to sleep for longer intervals, WOOHOOO!!! The other night she slept from 10pm to 4am...it was amazing!!! We have a pretty good system going...even if we do go to bed at 8-9 o'clock most nights! I am up with her all night and then Ryan takes the first, early morning shift before he goes to work. I tried the whole "sleep when she sleeps" thing and it's just not working. She is wide awake in the morning when I want to be sleeping and then in the middle of the day when she wants to sleep, I am wide awake. Thankfully I don't feel sleep deprived, so we must be doing something right! During the day I have started putting her in her crib for naps, we want to make her transition a little more comfortable. She is growing so fast that she is going to out-grow her bassinet before we know it.

Things that Rylee likes...

The fan...She puts her head way back and just stares at it with her mouth wide open!

Bath time...She loves being in the water and having the water poured over her head--even more than she did before.

Looking at her "guys"...We have started to stimulate our little girls mind and she loved looking at the shapes. I told Ryan we have to do whatever we can to make her super smart because there is no way I will be able to help her with her math homework lol!!!

When Rylee is awake she is super alert and constantly looking around and is aware of things going on around her. Her dad has her working on her muscle strength and seems to think she will be walking be the end of the month haha She does hold her head up very well which I am really impressed with.

Happy one-month Birthday baby girl!!! We love you to pieces and enjoy every minute we get to spend with you!

HERE are some more pictures from our 1-month photo shoot :)
