Ice Cream!!!

The other night we Ryan decided to give Rylee her first ice cream cone (a drumstick), right before bed no less.  Of course she loved it!!!  She stole dad's as her own and was flinging ice cream all over the living room, the furniture and her dress.  It was pretty hysterical and we all got a good laugh watching her prance around with her ice cream cone!  Needless to say bed time came and all she wanted to do was play!

She was not happy when I took it away from her...

Swinging

Talking

I forgot to add this to Rylee's 11 month update.  This girl is rarely quiet now-a-days, she is a non-stop chatter box!  Her favorite (or the one she says the most) is "mama".  She is getting better with "dad" and whenever she sees him or hears him she will say dada.  Her first official word other than mom/dad was "hi" and she now knows the meaning of it.  We are also working on "hello".  She can say "bye bye" and most of the time that is followed up with a wave.

Here are a few more of her words and how they sound...

Hot (ha)
Bird (buh)
Meme (Jamie)
Pea
Ball (Baaa)
Golf Ball (Guh Baa)
Baby (BaaaayBeeeeee)
Good Night (Niii Niiii)
Puppy (Puh)
Dog (Da)
Grandpa (PaPa)
Cheese (tease)

Obviously you have to know what she is saying but we are pretty impressed with her communication skills!

Our Little Helper

Lately whatever we are doing Rylee wants to be doing it too.  She is really good at handing me the silverware out of the dishwasher so I can put it away and she is also very good at taking all of the clothes out of the drier and putting them on the floor so I can fold them.  Then after they are folded and in the basket she is really good at taking them out and handing them to me.  I am so lucky to have such a good helper, I love it

Labor of Love

For Rylee's birthday (yeah I know it's still a month away) all of her grandparents got her a swing set jungle gym! We went and picked it up and Ryan got crackin' on it the next day.  All in all it took 15 hours (with a few distractions) to put together.  The directions said it should take 4-6 hours with two people working on it...um, didn't happen!  Ryan put the majority of it together, poor guy, I helped when I could (someone has to watch the kid) and Jeffrey helped as well.  Jamie even helped by watching Rylee while the three of us finalized things.  It was definitely a group effort and I know it will be WELL WORTH IT!

Oh man this is going to be a project!!!

She is such a good helper!!!
Starting to come together...all the big pieces anyway

Playing with "blocks"

Back at it early the next morning

All done, woohoo!!!

She loved it!!!

She approves!

We just need to get her an infant swing until she is big enough to sit on the swings.  I know this bad boy is gonna get a lot of miles put on it in the near future.   Thank you so much Grandmas and Grandpas, you're all the best!!!

Walking!

Well, it's official we have a full fledged walker in the family!  So we all know that Rylee has been walking for a few weeks now.  Until recently she would grab anyone who was willing's hands and walk around.  She has been getting better and taking more unassisted steps, but still kind of freaked out if you let go of her hand.  Well on Sunday she decided that she was going to start motoring on her own.

There is something almost magical about watching your child start to walk.  I love it!

Needless to say, she is all over the place now!  Good thing we have our baby gates up!  The other day I was cleaning her bathroom and she got up and walked out.  She was gone for a little while so I went to look for her.  I started in her room...nothing, went to the guest room...nothing.  I finally found her in our closet playing with the belts!!!
