She has been making this fake little smile a lot lately, it's too funny!
How is it that we already have an 8-month-old?!?!?! It's so hard to believe she is almost a year old. She is growing like crazy...weighs 18 pounds and is 27 inches long. She loves to eat and has a wide variety of fruits and veggies that she loves. Honestly, there isn't anything she doesn't like so far. I figured out the chicken dislike (I mix it with brown rice and add a little salt-free seasoning) and now she loves it. This last weekend we introduced watermelon and cantaloupe (not super fond of these two) and pineapple (loves it). She has also gotten really good at feeding herself some finder foods. It's so funny to watch her put food into her mouth. She is so proud of herself.
We are super close to crawling. She is getting up onto her knees and rocking back and forth she just hasn't gotten the momentum to to forward. She will however scoot backwards a little bit. She is still a rolling machine. The other day I was sitting up at the table and I heard her kicking the door, which I thought was the pantry door, so I looked and she had in fact rolled around the corner and was kicking the laundry room door haha so I put up our first baby gate to keep her out of that area of the house. Right after I put it up she started kicking it in protest! More and more I am noticing how non-child proof our house is. I need to start making a list as I see her getting into things. I also notice (and am sad to say) that there are constantly tiny things on the floor that I see Rylee picking up and trying to put then into her mouth. Sooooo vacuuming has become an every day chore around here :) She likes to pick things up that aren't even there and put them i.e. nothing into her mouth. It's hilarious.
She has started standing on her own and taking a step or two and she will "walk" with us holding onto her hands. Any day now I know she is going to be on the go and I'll start spending my day chasing her around the house, I can't wait!
Walking with Grandpa...
Here is a video of Rylee's new trick...
For some reason Rylee thought it was hilarious that I was playing with her baby. Here's her reaction...
Well, it's suppose to get up to 108 this week so I have a feeling we will be in the pool a lot more and I will need to start coming up with more indoor activities for an 8 month old! Wish me luck!!!
