2-month stats

So Rylee had her 2 month check up which meant she also had to get her first round of vaccinations. I knew it was going to be rough so I made Ryan go with me. She did great up until the needles went in. SO HORRIBLE!!! She screamed bloody murder, sounds that we didn't even know were possible for her to make. I got all teared up, it was so hard to just sit there and do nothing while our little girl was in agonizing pain. The nurse was super fast though (obviously she has done this a time or two) and we got Rylee some milk right away and she passed right out. Poor thing. That afternoon was a little rough, she was pretty fussy and sad and would start to scream if her poor little legs moved. I think I cried just as much as she did after we got home. It's so hard to know that she is in pain and there is nothing I can do to make it go away "right now". The doctor told us he wanted to see how she handles the shots so not to medicate her before going into his office so we tried to keep her as happy as we could but after a while I broke down and gave her some ibuprofen and a worm bath and that seemed to do the trick (you can only handle so much screaming). Afterwords she was good to go for the rest of the evening and next morning was back to her chipper, happy, kicking and smiling self.

Other than the shots Rylee is perfect! The doctor even said so! haha She is right on track with her growth. She weighs 11.8 pounds (70%), 23 inches long (75%) and is in the 80% for head circumference. She is happy and healthy and that is all we could ask for! She has been such a good sleeper too, which I am not going to complain about! The past few nights she has slept 7+ hours, we are really lucky in this department. If she does wake up at night she eats and is back asleep in no time. I told Ryan if she continues to sleep through the night we are going to have to start putting her in her bed; she is quickly outgrowing her little crib we have in our room. Not sure if mom is ready for that though.

She continues to amaze us every day. She has become a lot more active and talks all the time. Her little coos just melt your heart. I could listen to her "stories" all day long. She almost has complete control of her head, not quite but we are getting close. We are thinking about putting her little jumper up, should be fun to see how she takes that all in. We downloaded several apps of the iPad that are centered around baby's development, one of them is about animals and she loves it! She will stare at it and listen to it for a long time. She is also starting to grab her rattle but can't quite shake it yet. I have noticed that she is into lots of different sounds lately so we are constantly making noises for her. And she has become quite the little kicking machine!!! It's awesome!
