Laughing
Rylee is finally starting to act as though she is ticklish. Here is a video of her laughing. You can't see anything because I couldn't hold the iPad to video and tickle at the same time. There is just something about a baby laughing that melts my heart. Enjoy!

A tooth!!!
Or should I say TEETH!!! For Rylee's 7 month birthday she got a new tooth!!! Her bottom left was the first to make it's appearance and you would never know it but the way she is handling it. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as fussiness which is awesome. All day I kept asking her to show me her tooth and she would just look at me like I was crazy! It was so exciting for me more than her but oh well. THEN the next day Ryan was feeding her and he pointed out that her bottom right tooth had made it's appearance as well!!! She's doing great and we would only be so lucky if all of them come in as painlessly as these two. (wishful thinking I know) Now she is constantly sticking her tongue out to feel them and I finally got a picture of her new pearly whites after struggling to get one for the last 3 days. Who knows how long until they are in completely?!?

Pool Time!
Well, we have reached the 100 degree mark in sunny Arizona so yesterday we hit the pool. Rylee loved it and sat in it for a good half hour. It was her first of many pool parties this summer. Good stuff!
She wanted his hat.
She even liked to lay on her tummy and kicked!
Hey Landon, get in here with me!
Just chillin in her pool, catchin some rays!
I think we're gonna be filling the pool up today as well!

Seven months old!!!!
It's getting harder and harder to get a good "birthday" picture! There is just too much going on and Rylee could care less about having her picture taken.
So, Rylee is always on the go. She's not crawling yet, but I know that is right around the corner. She is however, a rolling machine!!! She rolls across the living room from one side of the room to the other constantly and can wiggle her way into a new position to roll the other way. It's hilarious! She can definitely get from point A to point B. So needless to say we can't leave her alone unless she is "corralled" with pillows.
Anything that is within reach is going straight into her mouth which keeps reminding me that we need to do some serious child proofing of our house here in the near future. Speaking of things going into her mouth, Rylee now eats three times a day. She loves apples and hates chicken and eats everything in between. Honestly though I have been tasting everything that I make her and the chicken is quite awful...I need to somehow make it better without adding a lot to it. She loves to try and feed herself, and we are constantly taking her hands out of her mouth so when we are through I let her play with her spoon and it keeps her happy. She has mastered her sippy cup and can hold her bottle all by herself now. She's just growing up sooooo fast!!!
She now weighs in at 16.6 pounds and is about 26 inches long. She is still sleeping through the night. Only now she doesn't wake up in the early morning hours (2-4) to eat and go back to sleep she just wakes up some time between 6 and 7:30. She eats and if I'm lucky she will go back to sleep for another hour or so but usually we lay in bed and talk and watch one of her shows before we get up to go eat her breakfast. One of my favorite things to do is listen to her talk to herself through the monitor in the morning. She also kicks and bounces around in her crib until one of us goes in to get her. Then once we go in there she is all smiles and acts like she is so happy to see us and gives us cuddles and loves.
Here is a video of her talking to me the other day after lunch. Later that night she was in a talkative mood to we played the video of her and she just watched herself and laughed. We took another video of her watching and talking to herself but it's too long to upload. She continues to amaze us and make us laugh every day. It's amazing to me how much she is learning on a daily basis. When we eat I am trying to teach her "bite" and "drink" as well as "please and thank you". I'm also trying to teach her to wave bye bye and give kisses.
We also have more bug Rylee news but more on that later....

First Vacation
Well, we survived our first cross-country flight with miss Rylee...woohoo
On the way out to Maryland we took the red-eye flight. All was going well until our flight was delayed due to technical difficulties which in turn created an angry, screaming monster. However, once we finally took off Rylee slept the whole way. The flight home was a little different. Our flight was at 5PM and our plan was we would feed her dinner as soon as we got on the plane so she would be occupied during take off. This seemed to work but there were people taking their sweet time getting ready so there was a slight upset (not as bad as the flight out though). After she ate she fell asleep for about a half hour and then the rest of the flight was spent keeping her occupied enough to keep her from screaming. For some reason this little girl did NOT want to sit still in her seat which resulted in mom and dad standing up the whole flight. Oh well, at least she was somewhat happy.
Rylee got to meet her whole family! It was so fun to watch everyone with her and she was loving every minute of the attention. She is definitely a loved baby and I am so thankful that she got the opportunity to meet Ryan's side of the family, including her other GREAT grandparents. I wish we were all closer so she could spend more time with everyone.
The trip was very relaxing, it's so nice to have grandma and grandpa around to keep Rylee entertained all day and to get up with her in the mornings, especially since there was a 3 hour time difference -- which Rylee had no problem with (thank goodness).

Six Months Old
I know I say this every month, but holy cow, our little girl is growing up so fast!!! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital and now she is half a year old. I must admit that she is getting to be a LOT more fun and active. She is sitting up all by herself like a champ, even in the bathtub. She has started eating solid food, although she is not a huge fan yet, she rolls around the house and talks up a storm!
As soon as I grabbed the camera she got all serious, but I finally got a few smiles out of her.
She has worn the same tutu in all her pictures so far but it's finally time to get her a new one. It will be cool if I can find the same one in a bigger size.
Rylee had her 6 month check up yesterday. She is starting to be sketchy around people the doesn't know. She was good with the nurse (who obviously spends the most time with the kiddos) but she got a little mad when she picked her up to weigh her...she didn't want to lay down. Then when Dr. Saba came in to do his checks she was not a happy camper. She started freaking out when he was checking her ears, eyes and heart. Then the shots came and she screamed at first and then just sobbed for like 10 minutes--I felt so bad for her. This was the first time I went in solo (usually dad handles the shots) and I did pretty good. I guess I am just getting used to hearing my daughter scream. Does that sound bad? haha She weighed 15.2 pounds (I thought she was going to be heavier than that) 50%, was 26 inches, 75% and her head measured 16.5 inches, 75%.
She loves to talk! She has her "ba ba ba" and "ma ma ma" down so we have been practicing "da da da"
She still sleeps very well at night. Last night she slept 11 hours straight! I have recently decided to move bedtime up a half hour because by the time 8 o'clock rolls around she it so exhausted and cranky that she might as well be sleeping. She is mad throughout the whole bedtime routine including bath time. It seems to be working out for her and for us. She is constantly moving in her sleep too, she starts kicking and then will rotate in her crib. She has started rolling onto her side to sleep and the other day I went to check on her and she was actually sleeping on her tummy.
Rylee is constantly doing something, I think the only time she somewhat holds still is when she is sleeping. She is a professional roller now and isn't getting as fussy on her tummy as she was before. The other day I put her on her back in the middle of the living room while I was making dinner and all of a sudden I heard her fussing and it literally sounded like she was under the table! She had rolled all the way over to the tile and got "stuck" on her side against the chair. I know crawling isn't too far away and then we are gonna be in for it! I keep thinking how our house is not even close to being baby proof. Looks like daddy will have a project soon. **side note** I did find a baby gate that looks like is has never been used at a garage sale for $3...pretty excited about it :) She loves to kick her feet, suck her toes and everything she can get her hands on goes right into her mouth. I was working on her baby book and she kept rolling over to see what I was doing and I would pick her up and move her and she would role back to check on me. She grabbed the envelope the pictures we in and started eating it and then she got mad that I took it away from her only to find that she had a mouth full of paper. She's crazy!!!!
Eating!!! We attempted real food yesterday and she is NOT a fan...yet. We are going to try again today to see if it goes better. I gave her rice cereal as well and she liked that so I would give her a few bites and then sneak in something else and she just looked at me like "mom, I am not stupid I know what you are trying to do" Here is a video of her eating carrots.
