San Diego Trip!

Ryan and I both decided that if the cost of living wasn't so dang high we would totally live in San Diego. That place is AWESOME!!!! We had a wonderful weekend; the weather was perfect (totally loved the 70 degree temperatures) and it was so nice to get out of town. It's weird to think that it was probably one of the last trips we will take together, just the two of us.

Literally 10 minutes after we pulled out of the driveway I had to pee! Ryan told me I was not allowed to drink anything else the rest of the way there :) We had a nice little road trip and I only made him stop 3 times haha Best food combo in my life right now...fresh pineapple and pickles! and the funniest quote of the trip "You have me eating like a pregnant chick" My husband makes me laugh!

Our first night there we took a walk down on the harbor. Our hotel was literally right across the street and we went and looked at the Navy ships. I didn't realize that San Diego was so artsy! Then we went and had dinner in Little Italy.

On Saturday morning we met up with Ryan's aunt Karen and his cousins Elizabeth and Erika for breakfast, checked out Coronado Island and then headed up to La Jolla to hang out at the beach and check out the seals. Not gonna lie, soaking my feet in the cold ocean was beyond wonderful!

Sunday was Zoo day!!!! I have never been to a "real" zoo, so I was super excited about going! It was a perfect day too, it was a little overcast and temps were perfect! We did a LOT of walking (lots of hills) and by the end of the day this girl was beat and my feet were killing me! We met up with Ryan's second cousin and his family and hung out with them for a few hours, it was a great day!

teehee If you think this is inappropriate, you should have heard them! Hilarious!!!

We waited in line for EVER to see this little guy! Totally worth it!

Ryan said there is a whole lotta Kung Fu in this picture haha don't mind the huge, sweaty pregnant chick on the right...

After the zoo we met up with my relatives for dinner at Hash House a Go Go (as seen on Man vs. Food) and had a delicious meal.

Unfortunately our little get-a-way had to come to an end. Neither of us wanted to come home to the heat. The whole way I kept saying "what the temp now?" It was 110 here...yuck! Can't wait to go back to San Diego...next time little Rylee will get to go with us! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Feelin' hot hot HOT

Well...not only is it getting hotter here in the desert (110 last week) I swear I get bigger and bigger every day! Some days I feel like I have doubled in size over night!! I guess I shouldn't complain, I still have 12 weeks and we aren't even into the real heat of the summer yet!!!!

There are a few items that are literally saving my life right now...

**Knock on wood** I have no stretch marks and I swear it's because of this stuff! I have been putting in on morning and night religiously. My skin feels so stretched out and itches so bad but I put this stuff on and I'm good to go!!!

Our pool...

It's not the nicest pool on the block but this thing is MONEY!!!!! The water temperature is perfect and the wind seems to always be blowing a little bit so the breeze helps to keep ya cool! I have a little floaty bed thing that I can lay on, catch a few rays and even take a little nap every once in a while. It's so nice coming home from work when it's well over 100 degrees and being able to jump in and relax/cool off for a bit. Ryan says that being able to get in the pool after work completely changes his mood. I say this pool has already completely paid for itself!

Rylee's dad is good but not always as convenient as this bad boy! Our neighbor Melissa has been generous enough to let me use her back massager. I am totally loving it and use it at least once a day. My back has been killing me lately and having this is a huge relief. There was one night I was literally in tears because I was so sore and my poor husband just wasn't making the cut in the back rubbing department! Again, I still have 12 weeks.....

All-in-all things are going great. I am feeling really well and our little miss is starting to become quite the little mover! I go back to see the Doctor on the 30th and since I am Rh- I have to get a RhoGAM shot. Then after that I start going in every other week! That can only mean that we are almost done! I am so excited for her to just be here! It seems like there is still so much to do, but really I think we are set. We start baby classes next month and my co-workers are throwing us a co-ed baby shower August 6th it makes me feel so special. This summer is just going to fly by!!!!

Seven Months...

I went and got my hair cut and colored yesterday. It is by far one of my favorite things to do, I love having my hair "played" with. I wish I had someone to come shampoo and dry my hair every morning haha

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the beginning of your summers and for all of you up north, your nice cool temperatures, I am a bit jealous! Love to you all!

Recent Happenings

So things are moving right along. I must say, we are getting more and more excited with each passing day. I think for the most part we are good to go and we have everything to get us by in the beginning. Our daughters room is done, we have diapers/wipes (we have started buying a box every time we go to the store), a car seat, a bed, a stroller and enough clothes to get her by in the first couple months. I have even started on her baby book!!! I figured might as well get going on it now rather than 5 years from now haha. Lately I have been able to feel her more and more. Like everyone has said it is an amazing feeling. It still feels like a little alien swimming around in there and I have not felt a definate kick yet but I'm sure it can't be far away. She even woke me up out of a dead sleep the other night doing what I can only imagine as somersaults and back flips off my uterus. Ryan has even felt her move a few times but it seems like as soon as he puts his hand on my belly she stops moving. I've also had my first crazy baby dreams. In my dream my skin was see through so we could see the baby in my belly and my uterus was removable so we could also take her out. Very strange. Then I had a dream that she came out as a boy...which has me all nervous that she could be a boy...might want to double check on that or my son will hate us for all the pink that will be in his life.

(sorry the video is so long...go to about 15 seconds and watch the left-hand side)

I go in on Thursday for my glucose testing which I hear is tons of fun. I also got Ryan and I signed up for a baby class (labor/delivery, breathing, tour of the facility, etc.). Might as well go in knowing what the heck is going on. Here is a picture at 26 weeks. We are getting so close!

Easter Weekend

Ryan's family came out for the weekend. It was so good to see them, it had been since September. This was our first real holiday in the new house so of course I had to dye eggs and bring out all my decorations.

They even got to come to our 20 week appointment with us and we found out..........

IT'S A GIRL!!!!

The ultrasound tech said her legs are already super long (like half her body at 4" long), we found it quite hilarious.

I know Ryan was really looking forward to having a boy and to be honest we thought it was a boy from day 1. Had a boy name picked out and everything. So when she said it was a girl I looked at him not sure what to think and all I saw was a huge smile across his face. It was sweet. Grandma Vickie even went shopping for our little girl and got some adorable outfits!

For the rest of the weekend we just kind of hung out. We went on a drive through the desert so Travis could check out the cacti...I always love doing that. No matter how long I am here I still think that cactus are pretty cool.

And we got to enjoy Easter dinner out on the patio...it was beautiful. Plus our kitchen table is too small to fit all of us. Since it was a holiday and all, I even broke out my pretty red dishes that have never been used before.

Baby Girl's Bedroom

My parents came to town to help us decorate our daughter's bedroom. That sounds so weird so say..."daughter". I had an idea in mind and used the internet to get a few ideas but it turned out so much cuter than I thought it would. Ryan said this was the girliest thing he has ever done in his life, I love it! He is so excited to have a daughter, I can't wait to see them together. Thanks mom and dad for working so hard to make it perfect and thanks for buying the amazing furniture!

Ok, so enough people know....

So here is the story of baby Galloway since enough people know by now. It all started In early November when our neighbors (whom we have become really good friends with) told us they were pregnant. It was really exciting news and I was thrilled for them (not even considering one of our own). Needless to say this got Ryan talking baby and he told me he was ready to be a dad...FINALLY!!! I thought he was kidding at first because he has never been the baby talk kind of guy, it's always been me. SIDE NOTE...at this time I was getting ready to open 2 brand new restaurants. Anyway, so one night we were talking over dinner and all of a sudden Ryan says that he is ready for kids and that he wanted his child to be born in September. I asked him why September and of course if you know Ryan, he says so he'd the older one in his class and therefore bigger for sports purposes. So I started counting the months in my head and I told him that if that was to happen (this year) I would have to get pregnant in December. So he said "ok" and I said “so you’re telling me that I should go off the pill?” he was all “Yeah I guess” “are you sure?” I said because once I’m off it can happen at any time! He said yes and of course I stopped taking the pill that night.

So I figured if we were going to do this let’s do it right…so I downloaded an AP on my phone called “My Days” it’s a period and ovulation tracker. So I type in the day I got my “period” and it will tell me when my fertile time of the month is and the day that I should be ovulating. So a couple says later I get a “period” but I know it was just my body reacting to the lack of hormone from the pill. But we pretend it’s the real thing and we go from there. Nothin. I knew this would happen because I had been on the pill for so long I knew it was going to take a while to get it "out of my system" (I was thinking like 5-6 months) and my body to get back on track and get into a normal cycle.

Anyway, December comes and I get my period on the 8th and I could tell that this was a “normal” period but I didn’t actually think I would ovulate yet. So of course we do our thing according to my phone AP and on my ovulation day Boise State is playing Utah (go figure). I am just going to say this, when you are actually planning on making a baby it is a lot of hard work. So life goes on, we went to MT for Christmas and I was trying to be good and not drink because after all it WAS possible. We come home and celebrated the New Year with friends I only drank a tiny bit of champagne because again it was possible, plus I was super sick and had to work the next day so I used that as my excuse. I ended up getting strep throat, a sinus infection and the on-set of an ear infection…YUCK! So I was put on antibiotics. According to my phone AP I was supposed to get my period January 5th which I didn’t but I just figured it was because of the antibiotics. I read online that antibiotics can mess up your cycle, I might have been somewhat in denial…and so 2 weeks go by and I still haven’t gotten it and I tell Ryan that if I don’t have it by the end of the weekend I will take a test.

He told me that he knew I was pregnant the whole time but I still blamed the antibiotics. I went to work on a Sunday and still no period. I stop on my way home from work to buy a test. I get a 2 pack, you know, just to be sure. I pee and then start eating some dinner (yes I washed my hands haha). I told Ryan he had to be the one to go look. He goes in and says, “Hmmm, interesting” I was all "what’s that supposed to mean" thinking one is positive and one is negative and he says “looks like we are going to be parents” and then he gave me a high-5 haha

I made our Dr. appointment to confirm that all of this was true and that this was actually happening...which it is. We told our parents and brothers right away, all of whom are super excited. We waited until 12 weeks to start sharing the news with everyone. We get to find out what we are having in 2 weeks and I can't wait!!! I am ready to start shopping and buying all the necessities we are going to need in the months to come. I have a couple "bump" pictures but I am still in that "is she pregnant or starting to get fat stage" so no pics...sorry.

And that’s the story of how baby Galloway came about. Lately I have been reading lots of stuff about it and I have learned that less than 20% of couples get pregnant within the first month of stopping the pill and less than 30% of women do not get morning sickness (which I was blessed not to have to go through) so apparently we are pretty good at making babies and he or she will be here September 14th.
